"Definitions and Basics of Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence The availability of compute power and abundance of data has resulted in the tremendous success of deep learning algorithms. Neural Networks often outperform their human counterparts in a variety of tasks, ranging from image classification to sentiment analysis of text. Neural networks can even play video games [Mnih et al., 2013] and generate artwork [Ramesh et al., 2022].
