Abstract
"Your Values-Based Legacy: Making a Difference at Every Age and Phase of Life is the next book in Kraemer's "Values" series. This will be the next logical step in living our values. It starts with the individual (Values to Action), moves to the organization (Becoming the Best), and then looks at a person's life holistically (Your 168). This book will explore how everyone--at every age and phase of life--can intentionally build a legacy that truly does seek to make the world a better place. Your Values-Based Legacy differentiates itself by challenging all readers to think about how they are making a difference now, regardless of where they are in their lives. Thus, the messages, stories, and reflections in the book will apply to a broad range of people, whether they are still in college, just starting their careers, are advancing into leadership, or are considering their "second acts" after retirement. Admittedly, the word "legacy" today is most often associated with money and estate planning/inheritance. This book seeks to expand "legacy" to make it more self-reflective, spiritual, and intentional--and completely separated from monetary measures. In other words -you don't have to be a millionaire to leave a values-based legacy. This approach also broadens the discussion meaningfully--across generations, communities, career paths, and vocations. People can establish a powerful legacy at age 30 ... as well as age 60 (or beyond). This book seeks to create a blueprint for making life more meaningful by showing that we do, indeed, matter within our families and among our friends, colleagues, neighbors, community members, and even society. In a world that seems more divided than ever, focusing on the commonality of legacy can help build bridges and create connection around what matters most"-- Provided by publisher.
