Abstract
"Information and communication technology (ICT) is networking, control algorithms, system architecture, and other software and system topics related to building a software service for building energy management. Such a service requires collections of sensing and actuating devices measuring and controlling building systems such as lighting and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) connected through networks to cloud computing data centers where automated algorithmic controls work to reduce a building's operational carbon emissions. Device networks of this nature are sometimes known as Internet of Things (IoT) networks. Building energy management is often included as a subfunction of building automation systems in commercial buildings, but can also be provided by a dedicated system"-- Provided by publisher.
