This volume contains a collection of 39 papers selected for presentation at the third FLAC Symposium. Contributions cover a wide range of topics including constitutive models, slope stability, underground cavity design, mining applications, soil structure interaction, dynamic analysis and thermal analyses. As in previous FLAC Symposia, these proceedings illustrate the great variety of FLAC applications in geomechanics. This volume provides descriptions of both engineering applications and theoretical developments, and may be used as a guide to help FLAC users in their geotechnical analyses.
