Özet:
"By influencing rainfall patterns and by storing and releasing precipitation in the form of snow and ice, mountain ranges largely determine terrestrial water supply. It is of critical importance, therefore, to understand and manage the water sources in mountains (rivers, lakes, glaciers), so that they contribute to a sustainable water supply for low-altitude regions that are critically dependent on mountain water for their domestic, agricultural and industrial water supply."-- Provided by publisher.
