"Electric power systems (EPSs) and district heating networks (DHNs) have experienced significant growth in terms of energy demand, smart systems, and physical infrastructures in recent years. In this area, emerging new hybrid energy systems along with the substantial development in the energy conversion technologies declare this fact that modern grids need to be an integration of multi-carrier energy networks (MCENs). In this context, EPSs and DHNs play a pivotal role in meeting the electrical and heating energy demand that can be operated in a collaborative manner to make the modern structure of the energy network more efficient, reliable, resilient, and stable. Therefore, coordinated operation and planning of the EPSs and DHNs are necessary for switching from the traditional independent systems to the modern interdependent structures."-- Provided by publisher.
