Özet:
"Accumulation of xenobiotics, heavy metals, persistent and toxic organic pollutants, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, polychlorinated biphenyls, chemical pesticides, and the improper treatment of human and animal wastes have deteriorated the environmental quality. These contaminants result in serious environmental threats and social problems around the world. Due to their direct and indirect adverse impact on the climate, productivity in soil and water ecosystems, and health concerns environmental contamination is a leading global concern. Traditional methods of environmental contaminant mitigation has its drawbacks including in terms of costs, limited resources, and effects of residual products. Microbial based remediation offers a cheaper and more ecofriendly method for environmental remediation compared to other chemical or physical methods and can be applied to a wide range of environmental problems"-- Provided by publisher.
